SUNDAYS
Experience 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mornings
Focus: Worship. Faith grows out of experiencing God. Worship is our response to the God we experience and know. Experience meets in the youth room and is meant for jr. high and high school students to worship through music, discussion and teaching.
Experiment 10:45 a.m. Sunday Mornings
Focus: Discovery. Experiment is a jr. high small group that exists to discover and learn about Jesus. Students meet in the main service in the sanctuary at 10:45 and will break off for the small group after the musical worship.
Click here for the JrHi Small Group - Letter to Parents.
ECHO 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Sunday Evenings High School
Focus: Connecting. It’s hard to grow in your faith without others. Echo is filled with games, musical worship and teaching, but also is here to help you connect with God and others.
FRIDAYS
RAD Nite 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday
Focus: Connecting. Make your Friday nights fun. We provide a place to connect student with student, student with leaders and most importantly student with God. We have great leaders who love jr. high students and want to see them walk in a deeper relationship with Jesus. RAD (Really Awesome Devotions) does this through small groups, games and other opportunities to build relationships that God can use to help jr. high students grow in their faith.
Rad Nite will be extending to 6:30-9:00 on Fridays starting June 10th for Summer Competition!
Upcoming Events - Echo High School
Youth Missions Trip 2012
The youth group will be serving this summer in Costa Rica with Experience Mission. EM is the group we went with last year to minster at Black Mesa Reservation in AZ. They are a group that partners with existing church ministries. The exciting part of working with EM in Costa Rica is that the group they minister to are relatively unreached. The pastors of the Bri Bri people in Talamanca CR are first generation Christians. We’ve desired to have a cross cultural exposure to missions for our students and the prospect of ministering to a people group who have not heard about Jesus is exciting.
Estimated cost is between $1300-1400 for the week of June 16-23.
For more info, take a look at the Costa Rica Student Packet - 2012 or contact Tato.
Nov 27th Guys night/Girls night.
Girls meet at Janet Baker’s, guys meet at the church (but we will go offsite). Both are from 6:00-9:00. The ladies can expect a fun night of dessert and a movie. Guys… we are keeping it a secret (depends on the weather a bit). Let’s just say if it isn’t raining you should wear some shoes you can run around in.
Dec 4th Elm St. Mission
Elm St. Mission is a homeless mission in Santa Cruz. We will get to be part of the worship service and serve food/eat with the homeless folks at Elm St. We meet at 3:00, remember your permission slip, which can be found on the website.
Dec 9th – 11th Winter Weekend at Mount Hermon
Space is still available for this fun weekend. Mount Hermon has packed the weekend with a great speaker and band + tons of opportunities to connect with friends. There is a loaded craft room, a ropes course, paintball, laser tag, etc. Plus Mount Hermon has dessert about 4 times a day. Cost is $179, talk to Tato to sign up before spots run out.
The Band: the Mark White Band
Speaker: Charlie Broxton – Mount Hermon Youth Program Director
Dec 17th – Echo Progressive Dinner
We will be celebrating with a progressive dinner, where we go house to house for each course of the dinner. We will end with dessert and the white elephant gift exchange. Bring something wrapped that is either used or new (but cannot be trash, a living animal or offensive) for the gift exchange. Value can be up to $10, but the best gifts are ones found in your closet!
Dress up for the event, let’s have some fun. We won’t shun you if you come in pajamas, but wouldn’t it be more fun wearing a dress or a shirt and tie?
Dec 25th & Jan 1st – No Echo
Jan 4th – Echo Ice Skating Night
Permission slips are available on the website and in the church office. We will meet at 4:30 pm to go downtown San Jose for some dinner and ice skating. Ice Skating tickets are $8 + bring some money for dinner. We also need a new Medical Release form for the 2012 year, just in case you fall and break something!
Upcoming Events - Rad Jr High
We had a great time at our Fall Frenzy event. RAD took their biggest group ever, over 30 jr. highers! God has been doing some cool things with the jr. high group this year.
No RAD the Friday after Thanksgiving (11/25)
Dec 16 – Elf Movie Night 6:30-8:30pm
We will be getting into the Christmas spirit with the classic movie ELF. This will be a fun night with Christmas cookies, hot chocolate and the movie. The point is to give you a chance to hang out and invite friends to come experience RAD.
Dec 23rd – Christmas Dinner and Gift Exchange Night 6:30-8:30 pm
Our annual Christmas dinner and White Elephant gift exchange. There is no cost, just show up for good food and the fun gift exchange. Bring something wrapped that is either used or new (but cannot be trash, a living animal or offensive) for the gift exchange. Value can be up to $10, but the best gifts are ones found in your closet!

MHPC YOUTH Winter Camps
Jr. High Nov 11-13 - High School Dec 9-11
School is rolling along and sports practices are hitting that point where you’re still having fun but are getting tired… Sounds like it might be time for a break away. These weekend retreats are great times to get away with friends, spend some time with God and recharge. Mount Hermon fills the weekend with a great speaker and band; plus tons of opportunities to have fun: laser tag, paintball, a loaded craft room filled with fun things to make, a game room filled with ping pong tables, pool and fooseball, and so much more like the ropes course, mountain bikes and a skate park.
Want to reserve your spot? E-mail or call Tato to sign up with our group spots. Space is limited, but if you sign up fast we can get more before it is all booked up.
