Advent Group Ministries - Foster Care
Dale MacGowan the Foster Family Director of Advent Group Ministries is looking for a foster home for siblings, Jimmy 6, and Juanita, 4. Jimmy has witnessed domestic violence and the social worker wants a home that can adequately supervise him. The social worker is aware that there is some potential for Jimmy to re-enact the domestic violence toward his younger sister, even though he has no history of aggression. What the social worker has seen so far is nothing but “sweet kids”.
If your heart is tender for children like Jimmy and Juanita, won’t you call Dale at Advent Group Ministries' Christian foster family agency for more information. 408.281.0708 ext. 105.

Camper Scholarships
MHPC has a fund that helps junior and senior high students to attend camp.
Without these scholarships some of the kids wouldn't be able to attend camp (where
many decisions for Christ are made). Donations to this fund are always welcome,
just mark your donation "Fund 42." Thanks.
FAQ - Family Life Center project
How would the new Family Life Center benefit our Children and Family Ministries department?
While the CFM (Children and Family Ministries) staff cannot give a moment by moment schedule
of how they will use the facility (as it changes from week to week, sometimes) they do know
what having the new building would mean to them...
The new building will mostly house Youth activities, offices, and one "flex" room.
But, because the Youth will have a new space to call their own, it will free up the room
they are currently using (room 8) for use by Children's Ministries.
We are really looking forward to having a room dedicated to our ministry!
It is ideal for us because:
• It is conveniently located next to our Resource Room/Office
• It is easy to find for parents that are unfamiliar with our campus
• It is near the bathrooms (key for ministering to children!)
• It already has the audio-video equipment installed that we use on a weekly basis
- freeing us from having to set it up each Sunday morning
• The size and flooring is already appropriate for our use in ministry
• It will allow us to be in the same room for both hours on Sunday morning
(right now we switch between 2 rooms, needing to reset-up for both hours)
While David Frederick will coordinate the major use of the new building for Youth activities,
we will be able to schedule with him to be able to use the new rooms for the occasional ministry needs
that Children's Ministries has from time to time. These will include:
• VBS space
• A new children's discipleship class that we have wanted to plan but have no space for
• Additional space for Mad Friday activities including:
- perhaps a new elective choice
- room to move childcare and youth tables from the Fellowship Hall
- allowing us to take more children into the program
• A place to have recreation when it rains
• The opportunity to do more "out of the box" thinking when we plan the program
• The opportunity to start to think about beginning new ministries for parents
that can take place while children and youth ministries are happening concurrently
These are the most immediate ways that a new building will impact the CFM ministry.
Of course, we will think of more as the vision becomes a reality and we are able to utilize the new space.
This doesn't even address the benefit to Adult Ministries who will gain space to have bible studies,
committee meetings and classes as our facility is reconfigured. It would be great to not have classes
that have to be interrupted in the Fellowship Hall!
We hope that this list can answer some of the questions that have been raised.
This new space would benefit our ministry in many ways, and we support it.
